CMA Compliance
FuneralMatch is committed to presenting pricing, provider information, and comparison content in a clear and responsible way.
Our transparency commitments
FuneralMatch follows Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) guidance to ensure families receive clear, accurate pricing information.
Transparent pricing display
All prices shown on FuneralMatch clearly indicate whether they represent 'starting from' prices, package prices, or estimates. We distinguish between the funeral director's professional fees and third-party disbursements (crematorium fees, doctor's fees, etc.) wherever possible.
Verified provider information
Provider profiles include verified business details, service offerings, and customer reviews. All information is regularly updated and cross-checked. Families should still confirm final service scope, availability, and pricing directly with their chosen provider before making commitments.
Standardized comparison format
We present funeral packages in a consistent, comparable format showing what's included, what's optional, and what costs are estimates. This helps families make informed decisions without hidden surprises or unclear terms.
Regular compliance reviews
Our team periodically audits site content, pricing displays, marketing claims, and provider listings to ensure information remains accurate, balanced, and compliant with CMA guidance on funeral pricing transparency.
Understanding funeral costs
Funeral costs typically consist of three main components. We aim to show these clearly on every package listing.
Professional fees
Charges by the funeral director for their services, staff, facilities, and care of the deceased.
Third-party disbursements
Costs paid to external parties on your behalf. These vary by location and choices made.
Optional extras
Additional services or products you may choose to personalize the funeral.
How we display pricing
Prices shown are clearly labeled as 'from' prices, package prices, or estimates, with explanations of what is and isn't included.
Third-party disbursements (crematorium fees, minister fees, etc.) are identified separately where possible, as these vary by location and choice.
Final funeral costs must always be confirmed in writing by the funeral director before arrangements are finalized.
FuneralMatch acts as an intermediary platform connecting families with providers. We do not replace the provider's statutory price list or contractual documents.
If any pricing information appears unclear, incomplete, or inaccurate, families can contact us immediately and we will investigate and correct it.
We do not accept commission or referral fees that would incentivize us to recommend higher-priced services over more suitable alternatives.
Report unclear pricing
If you find any pricing information on FuneralMatch that is unclear, incomplete, or appears inaccurate, please let us know immediately. We take pricing transparency seriously and will investigate all reports.
Report an issue →CMA guidance compliance
FuneralMatch follows the Competition and Markets Authority's guidance on funeral pricing transparency. This includes clear itemization of costs, separation of professional fees from disbursements, and honest representation of what's included.
